The murder of the UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York has been in the news lately. Some may ask a hypothetical question, if Brian had a personal protection dog (PPD) with him, could this dog have prevented his murder? Based on my analysis of the murder video reported by New York Post, I think that there was a good possibility that a PPD could have prevented his death.

Couple of months ago we were looking for a dog to protect our customer’s construction site (his interest led to us developing a new solution for protecting commercial properties and construction sites described here). One of our contacts referred me to a police officer in New Jersey who imported a dog from Netherlands to be used by a police department. I already wrote about Rocky’s behavior in the previous article. This news blog discusses our experiences with this interesting challenging dog in a much more detail.
I hope it will be both interesting and educational. I will keep updating this article with my work and life with Rocky focusing on fun and not so fun experiences in our daily lives, training techniques that were successful and those that did not work while focusing on addressing behavior problems with this very challenging high prey drive dog.

The best results in many areas are achieved by balance between various factors. Usually, extremes without a balance do not achieve optimum results. This is true for the performance of working dogs. I already covered the subject of aggression in one of my previous articles on this website. This article discusses the balance between caution and confidence. This is well illustrated by studying the behavior of our two working K9 dogs — Luna and Rocky.

K9 Technology LLC just released K9 Detection security services. K9 Detection uses highly trained dogs to detect explosives and firearms or drugs to secure events and venues. Growing threat of terrorism is an increased risk for major events. Using highly effective K9 teams to secure events is the most effective and cost-effective method. But what is unique about K9 Technology services that differentiates us from our competitors?
AI is the buzz word of the day. Many people had good experiences, but many also found out that some merchants use AI as a gimmick with little value. We often get questions from our prospective customers about dog aggression. The questions come from two opposing perspectives — do our dogs aggressive enough to effectively confront an intruder, and are K9 Tech Security dogs too aggressive to be part of my family’s life? Dog aggression is important for the selection and training of our personal protection dogs. This article explains dog aggression and how K9 Technology looks at aggression in our selection and training of our dogs.
After months of extensive research and development effort, we are proud to announce that our unique and comprehensive security solution is available for select customers. This video is basically a demonstration of a working prototype of our security system.
The official launch of our personal and property security business will begin with the premiere of our first commercial. Since we envisioned the most comprehensive security solution for large properties and their inhabitants, we realized that the best way to demonstrate its effectiveness is through a video.
