Frequently Asked Questions

Our AI based video surveillance analytics system has the capability to distinguish between a non-human and a human intruder.  Moreover, it can distinguish between intruders presenting different threat levels.  For example, an intruder wearing a mask or carrying a weapon may present a higher threat than a regular person.  Using its AI features, our system is constantly learning and improving its detection based on the feedback from the homeowner or the monitoring center operators.

Yes!  The overall technology and approach is the same, but there are specific differences.  For example, the property owner can lease the dog(s) and technology.  We can provide someone to take care of the dog on premises.  For temporary sites (e.g., construction sites) we use mobile self-contained and solar powered video and sound units.

Please refer to this page for a more detailed information about our commercial site security solution.

Our personal protection dogs are purchased from the best working dog breeders and trainers in the US and Europe when they are 1.5 to 2.0 years old and already obtained some basic training in obedience and protection (usually in one of the working dog sports in either IGP or KNPV).  They are then trained for each specific customer deployment by us or one of our training partners for another 3 to 6 months.   We make sure they fit specific customer preferences and lifestyles and are ready to work in a real-world environment.  They are also trained with our system to know how to start their intruder search in the direction of intrusion detection of our AI based system.

Please refer to this page for a more detailed information about how we train our protection K9 dogs.

We can sell and install just the video surveillance and detection system, or we can sell you just the protection K9. It all depends on the requirements and interest of our customers.

Our AI based surveillance system is very reliable and user or the operator can constantly improve its accuracy by providing feedback. Through its AI based learning features, the system will constantly improve to detect the type of threats most relevant to your specific deployment. It is designed to minimize false alarms by detecting animals or children, for example. That said, no system is 100% full proof. This is why we implement a multi layer security solution combining this high-tech system with highly trained protection K9s.

We select and train the dogs custom for each customer. This is because the type of dog and the type of training they will get will depend on each customer’s individual circumstances, security requirements, and preferences. We select already pre-trained dogs between 1.5 and 2 years old. We can select from a variety of dogs, but it takes between 3 to 6 months to complete dog training for the individual customer’s needs.

Please refer to this page for more details about our personal protection dog availability.

The cost of a personal protection dog varies widely.  It can range between $25,000 and over $100,000 USD.  The cost will depend on availability of dogs that fit your specific needs and requirements.  Please refer to this page for more information about the cost of our personal protection dogs.

Regular software updates, routine checks of the cameras and hardware, and ensuring that the system’s settings are aligned with the current security needs are essential for maintaining optimal performance.  We also perform periodic tests of the system.  Our protection dogs also need maintenance service (optional) to make sure they perform at their best.

Protection dogs are the most effective way to quickly intercept a potentially dangerous intruder using less force than would be used with a firearm or other lethal forms of protection.  There have been many anecdotal instances showing regular dogs to be effective in preventing a home burglary or a home invasion.   Our dogs are specifically trained for protection like police and military K9s and are much more effective in stopping a dangerous criminal on your property.

Generally, yes.  Our protection dogs are very well trained, and they are trained to distinguish between a family or a friend and a potential threat.  Some dogs are more suited to also be a family dog and live at home, and others are more energetic and aggressive suited to live outside in a kennel.   We select the dog character and provide training depending on customer’s requirement to make sure the dog suites each customer’s lifestyle and security needs.

A typical guard dog is not trained to guard property.  A guard dog does his work because it has natural territorial guarding and defense instincts.   It is barking and may even bite an intruder because it is afraid of the intruder on its territory.  Guard dogs do not go through extensive obedience and bite training.  They may be effective guarding a relatively smaller territory, but they are very unlikely to engage an intruder while the intruder is further away from the house or their kennel.

Our trained protection dogs are trained to search and intercept an intruder on command (given automatically by our security system, or by property owner, or by a security monitoring operator) and either hold the intruder in place by aggressively barking or attacking and taking down a dangerous intruder. In most cases, our protection dogs can also serve as personal protection dogs outside the property.

K9 technology has a very detailed process to help you integrate this new partner into your home.  Please refer to this page for more information about integration.
