K9 Tech Security combines the most advanced video surveillance technology with highly trained protection dogs to provide the most effective security solution for your family and your property. First, we needed reliable technology to detect real-world threats to your safety. We deploy a network of sophisticated video cameras to scan your property boundary for a possible intrusion. The digital video information from these cameras is then collected by a special on-premises computer (it is called an edge device as it is located on-site). Our edge device makes the initial analysis of the threat and uploads the information to our cloud system via a secured Internet link.

AI Backed By Canine Technology

Based on the threat detection configuration, the edge computer and our sophisticated cloud servers analyze the threat to determine whether to raise an alarm. Once an alarm is raised, our edge device can trigger various actions on the security network. For example, it will send a voice file to a network mounted loudspeakers to warn the trespasser. The edge device may also activate an electronic switch to unlock the kennel door to release the trained K9 to intercept the intruder (if the dog is housed in a kennel).

Our system can also be monitored by a central monitoring center that can alert the law enforcement, release the protection K9, and alert the homeowner. Our system has the capability to send alerts to any computer or mobile device.

The CAWAMO AI Analytics System

We implement the CAWAMO’s video surveillance AI analytics detection system. CAWAMO’s technology allows us to achieve a high level of accuracy minimizing false alerts. This system has two main components — the on-premises computer (the edge device) and sophisticated cloud-based analytics system. This design allows for very rapid digital video signal analysis that is capable of processing signals from hundreds of cameras and as the same time providing a very sophisticated detection capability.

The edge device makes the initial analysis whether a possible threat exists. Once a possible threat is identified, the compressed video data is sent to our cloud servers via a secure Internet based link. Cloud servers make further determination whether the threat matches one of the configured threat detection scenarios. For example, it is possible to configure the system to detect any person, or even a person that present a higher degree of threat because he or she is wearing a mask or another face cover. The system can be configured to detect people that carry weapons such as guns.

Every such detection scenario can be configured to raise a special action alert. For example, if just a person is detected, then the system will only send a warning message through a loudspeaker to want the intruder, but if a higher-level threat is detected, the system can release the trained protection dog to intercept the threat.

The CAWAMO system can be easily integrated with our monitoring centers. It also can send alerts to any personal computer or mobile device. The alerts show what detection scenario was triggered as well as feed from the camera that detected the threat.

The AI features of this system allow it to learn to improve the reliability of threat detection. The monitoring center operator or the homeowner can indicate whether a specific alert was correct or not as well as the reason for false alerts. The system then uses this information to improve future detection.

Highly Trained Protection K9s

Integration of protection K9s is critical for providing real-time security of your property and your family. This is especially true for large remote properties. There have been too many incidents when law enforcement was not able to reach in time to eliminate potential threats. We live in a country with a growing crime problem, and we can no longer rely on law enforcement for our protection.

Owning a firearm will help improve your protection. However, laws are increasingly limiting how a legal firearm could be used. Effective and safe use of a firearm requires considerable training and may present a legal risk to the property owner.

Our extensive legal research showed that use of a trained protection dog on your property may have a lower legal liability than use of a firearm or even a cold weapon. Therefore, well trained protection dogs are one of the best methods to eliminate any threat quickly and effectively.

We select and train each of our protection K9s for each customer deployment. The selection of the type of dog highly depends on the customer’s security needs and customer’s preferences. For example, if a customer wants the dog to live with his family in the house, then the dog chosen may be different than when customer prefers the dog to live in one of our special kennels outside the house. Is the level of threat that you are concerned about is very high or normal. For very high threat levels, for example, we may select a more aggressive dog.

We procure the dogs when they are already 1.5 to 2 years old and already had some good basic protection training (such as training in protection sports like Schutzhund or KNPV). The best way to really know the character and behavior of a dog is when the dog has already grown over 1 year old. We leverage a large network of dog breeders and dog trainers in the USA and in Europe (mainly Netherlands and Germany) for procuring these dogs.

We then either train these dogs in our training facility or place them with one of our qualified protection dog trainers for further training. The dogs are custom trained based on the requirements we compile for each customer. This training process may take between three to six months. We have an extensive quality program to test the dogs to make sure that these dogs are ready for deployment.

We spend considerable time teaching the owners to work with these special friends that will become an integral part of our customers’ family. The owners must learn how to give commands to the dogs and how to take care of these dogs to make sure that are healthy and ready to be the special protector we trained them to be. We can provide the new dog owners with everything these dogs will even need including food, supplements, protective gear, and even luxury kennels. We offer maintenance contracts for us to make sure the dogs continue to be healthy and effective partners for many years.

Our Suppliers and Partners

We already mentioned the CAWAMO system, which is the main brain behind our video analytics detection capability.

We implement state-of-the-art high resolution digital cameras that are installed in weather hardened enclosures. We have preferred camera brands that we extensively tested, but the advantage of the CAWAMO system is that we can use any standard high resolution video camera technology on the market. This is unlike other AI based video surveillance systems that integrate the AI functions inside the camera hardware.

We have extensive experience in working dog training. Throughout the years we got to know and developed relationships with some of the best working dog trainers in the business. Our partners have trained dogs for most select military units as well as many police departments. It took considerable experience to distinguish between those who just train dogs for making nice social media videos and photos and those who are truly masters of working dog training.

For customers who chose to house the protection K9s outside, we can offer the optional kennel system made by manufacturers in the Lancaster Pennsylvania area. We found the quality of their kennels to be the highest, and they offer a variety of options to customize kennel design including heating and cooling systems.

In the future, these vests will also be fitted with a small video camera and a bio-metric device to get real-time feed from the dogs.
