Simon Raban
President and founder of K9 Technology, LLC (K9 Tech Security is our brand name). Simon has a unique combination of technology and dog training know-how and experience.
Simon first learned technology and security while serving at the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) elite Intelligence unit 8200. After his discharge from military service, Simon acquired over 40 years of technology hands-on and management experience. For many years, he worked in developing manufacturing execution and control systems (MES) and business management software, as well as in implementing complex technology ERP platforms. Simon also managed various businesses for large, medium, and small companies. Simon is an entrepreneur who founded several successful companies such as Swift Solutions, Marina’s Pure Products, and RR Racing.
For over 20 years, Simon has been passionate about dog training. Over the years, Simon has trained with and learned from some of the best working dog trainers in the USA. Simon trained dogs in Schutzhund (IGP) dog, PSA and Mondioring dog sports. Simon trained search & rescue and explosive detection dogs. His last dog, Luna (featured on this website), achieved the highest IGP IGP 3 title and was accepted into USCA IGP 3 Club. Luna was also earned a title in PSA (Protection Sport of America). In addition, Luna is a certified explosive detection dog (EDD certified through AWD). Simon then also trained Rocky (an import from Netherlands) in explosives and firearms detection. Simon leads the K9 Technology’s volunteering efforts at various events providing explosive detection services.
Laurence Armstrong
Laurence is the K9 Technology dog training director. Laurence has over 35 years working dog training experience training obedience, protection, and nose work (tracking and detection). He has trained dogs for multiple police and security organizations. Laurence has also worked as a lead handler for drug and explosive detection K9s at major events and venues. Laurence has founded the LA Harde Hond K9 Acedemie and LA Harde Hond breeding kennel.
Laurence’s extensive experience with working dogs is essential to assuring that K9 Tech Security customers get the best dogs to fit their security and lifestyle needs. Laurence is an integral part of our dog selection and training activities as well as quality control of our partners that supply us with working dogs and training services.
