Guard Dog versus Protection K9
Many property owners are interested in guard dogs. However, there is a big difference between a guard dog and a trained protection dog. A typical guard dog is not trained to guard property. It works based on natural territorial instincts, barking and possibly biting an intruder out of fear. Guard dogs do not undergo extensive obedience and bite training. They may be effective in guarding a smaller territory but are unlikely to engage an intruder further away from the house or their kennel.
How K9 Technology protection dog can be activated
In most cases, K9 Technology trains our protection dogs to attack an attacker on command. The owner must give a command, such as “attack” or “bite,” and point to the person they want the dog to attack. We also train the dogs to hold and bark for cases when the owner wants the dog to be on alert and just threaten the threatening person.
The dog will run to the person and bark. If the subject attempts to attack the dog or runs towards the owner, the dog will bite automatically. This is the safest way to control a personal protection K9 dog, as we do not want to take the chance and have the dog make the decision about what is a threat and what is not.
The only time the dog may act on its own is when it is alone inside the owner’s dwelling and the owner is not around. If an intruder enters such a dwelling, the dog is trained to respond by attacking the stranger.
In some extreme cases, we train the dog to respond to a violent attack on its owner on its own. We offer this training option to owners who are afraid of high threats.
How protection K9 dogs are housed
Typically, our personal protection dogs live in the house. They are highly trained dogs and are safer around the family and children. However, in some situations, such as when the owner has allergies or prefers not to have dogs in the house, our protection dogs can also be kept in special climate-controlled kennels outside the main house.
Other uses of protection dogs
K9 Tech Security also uses protection K9 dogs in our property security. We leverage dogs as an effective complement to our advanced AI surveillance technology. This solution can be also used for commercial properties such as construction sites.
