What Is my Doggy Gym Play Club?

Our mission is simple: help you raise a healthier, happier dog. One of the most effective ways to achieve this is through meaningful engagement, structured play, and consistent interaction between you and your dog.

While we are working toward launching our first full Doggy Gym facility, we are excited to introduce the my Doggy Play Club — a hands-on, guided experience designed for dog owners who want more than just passive exercise or walks for their dogs.

This is not a typical dog playgroup. It’s a structured, trainer-led environment where you actively work, play, and build a stronger bond with your dog.

How It Works

  • Small group sessions (members only)
  • Each owner works 1-on-1 with their dog
  • Guided by a professional trainer
  • Learn structured play, obedience, and engagement
  • Practice while others observe and learn

You don’t just watch — you actively train, play, and improve with your dog.

my Doggy Gym Play Club Activities

Examples of the types of activities we will do —

  • Train First.  In order for us to effectively play with our dogs, they must have some basic training.  We will introduce you to marker training — our communications language with our dogs — and to basic obedience.  Every dog in the group must have some basic training.
  • Play Ball.  We keep hearing from dog owners that they cannot play ball with their dogs as they grab it and chew on it or run away.  We will help our members train their dogs to play ball so everyone gets more fun.
  • Play Frisbee.  Many dogs would like to play Frisbee but owners need to learn how to teach their dogs to play.
  • Play Scent Games.  Almost all dogs would love to play scent games!
  • Do Basic Agility.  We will train our dogs to jump, go trough tunnels and walk on elevated walk ways.  The goal is not to compete in agility sport — the goal is to improve our dogs physical fitness and balance and have fun!
  • Swimming Trips.  Did you take your dog to the lake or the local creek to play in the water?  We will do group water trips.
  • Other Ideas?  If there is something the group members would have liked to do with their dogs, we will try to help you do it.

Cost

The members of the club only have to pay for club expenses.  These expenses may include equipment such as balls, frisbees, jumps, tunnels, etc., and fees for using the club’s field.  Club membership fee will be determined after the initial group will be formed, but it is estimated to be around $100 per quarter.

Number of Members

We are planning to limit the number of members to 10 for each session.  If there is interest, we may form several group sessions.

Location

We will find a location in the Spring City / Chester Springs area for our meetings.  From time to time, we will meet at a remote location such as a park, lake or a creek (or even a shore excursion is possible).

Help

This is not for profit club that will belong to its members.  We will ask for volunteers to help with organization and logistics such as communications, collect fees, organize meetings, organize food and refreshments, etc.
