K9 Protection Dogs in Scottsdale, AZ
Imagine this: You and your family are walking downtown enjoying nice spring weather and looking for your favorite ice cream place. The sun is shining, and your small town is peaceful with spring flowers and trees in full bloom. Your children are ahead excited and laughing. Suddenly, you notice a quick movement of a man wearing a hooded shirt and sunglasses towards your daughter. He seems to carry a shiny object in his hand and screaming something strange. You are stunned at first, feeling powerless as you are unarmed and may not reach your daughter in time. But your loyal family guardian is already ready to act - all you must do is let go of the leash. In a second Rocky closes the distance between you and the crazy assailant, he attacks with speed and determination. The assailant does not have time to react to your K9 charging at 30 miles per hour. The assailant was neutralized, and you and your kids are safe!

How We Choose Our Personal Protection Dogs for Sale in Scottsdale, AZ
The first requirement for any dog we deem worthy of our protection canine program is that it must be bred to be a working dog.
Working Dogs 101
In the United States, the term "K9" has become the standard way to refer to working dogs. This abbreviation originated from police departments that started using "K9" to describe their police dogs, with K9 simply being a shorthand version of the word "canine," which refers to the family of animals that includes all dogs. As a result, K9 has become a common term for working police dogs.
But what exactly is a working dog? There are several types of working dogs. For instance, dogs that assist with hunting are considered working dogs, as well as those that are trained to pull carts to market. Generally, when we talk about working dogs, we refer to dogs that perform important tasks in police and military settings.

Our Family Protection Dog Selection Process
We select mature dogs aged 1.5 to 2.0 years, ideally with some basic training in working dog sports like KNPV, Schutzhund/IGP, or Mondioring. This allows us to assess their working character, training, health, and suitability for your needs.
After selection, we focus on training the dogs to meet our customers' specific requirements. These dogs must maintain a high level of obedience while also being prepared to respond to potential threats on command. Often, we train them to use a "hold and bark" technique, where the dog barks to warn of a threat when the owner gives a guard command. The dog will only bite if the person attacks or approaches the owner.
Our personal protection dogs can be trained and sold anywhere in the USA. Clients often refer their friends and family members to K9 Technology because:
- We Utilize an Effective Four-Step Selling Process
- Every Do is Selected to Meet Your Unique Needs
- Every Family Protection Dog is Trained with Your Family in Mind
- We Select Dogs from the Best Breeders in the World
- Exclusive Training from Professional Protection Dog Trainers

Family Protection Dogs for Sale in Scottsdale, AZ Tailored to Your Needs
While there are certain essential traits that all K9 dogs we select must have, we also take into account the unique needs and preferences of each customer. We start that process by conducting a thorough interview to understand your situation and engage with each adult family member. We then visit your home and property, paying close attention to your living arrangements and specific circumstances. We'll ask you questions such as:
- Do you have children and their ages?
- Do you prefer the dog(s) to live inside or outside the house?
- Do you want a family dog that will spend time with you and your family or a protection dog that would focus on its primary task?
- Do you need a protection dog that you can take with you outside your property to provide protection?
- What are your security concerns, and what are the security risks you seek protection from?
- How large is your property, and what is the local weather?

The Importance of Dog Traits
Dogs, even those of the same breed and from the same litter, can have very different personalities. Some dogs are naturally more family-oriented and exhibit patience around small children, while others may not have that same temperament. Certain dogs are highly energetic and may not be suitable for living indoors with someone who lacks experience in handling working dogs.
Some dogs also possess strong prey and defensive instincts, showcasing a higher degree of aggression that can be valuable for addressing potential intruders. Conversely, there are also dogs that are more balanced and easygoing, yet still fully capable of dealing with your average criminal threat.
Selecting the right personal protection dog for your needs takes many years of experience and knowledge of dog behavior. That's why, at K9 Technology, we've assembled a world-class team for exactly this purpose.

Top 3 Family Protection Dogs for Sale in Scottsdale, AZ
At K9 Technology, one of the most common questions we get often revolves around what the best K9 protection dogs are. That's a difficult question to answer because every breed is different, and every family and individual will have different needs and goals with their protection dog. However, generally speaking, working dogs like the following breeds are often the best.
German Shepards
German Shepherds are commonly chosen to work alongside police officers for a good reason. They are courageous animals, displaying both confidence and boldness. Their high intelligence and ability to learn commands quickly make them a popular choice among individuals and families. When they join a household, they tend to have a calm demeanor and are very affectionate. However, don't be fooled; if their home is threatened, they will respond swiftly to protect their loved ones.

Belgian Malinois
The Belgian Malinois is a highly energetic breed that possesses the strength and vigor of a large dog, all while maintaining a lighter frame. Similar to Dobermans, Malinois are exceptionally intelligent and alert. Like many protective breeds, they require regular physical activity and mental challenges to truly thrive.

Dutch Shepherds
If you're looking for a versatile and highly intelligent protection dog, the Dutch Shepherd is an outstanding choice. Originally developed in the Netherlands for herding and guarding duties, this breed is known for its incredible work ethic, adaptability, and loyalty. Dutch Shepherds are extremely trainable, making them ideal for both personal and family protection.

The K9 Technology Difference
Investing in one or more K9 protection dogs for sale in Scottsdale, AZ, is a significant decision for you and your family. You're not just bringing home a new family member; you're also gaining a crucial ally who can help safeguard your lives. At K9 Technology, we prioritize the selection and seamless integration of this dog into your home, ensuring a smooth transition and a strong bond with your loved ones.
Our Selling Process Explained
Our four-step selling process is very thorough and is tailored to your needs, schedule, and family life. It includes:

Meet - Let's Get to Know Each Other
When our customers reach out, our first priority is to understand their security concerns. We want to know why you're considering a personal protection dog and what experiences led you here. Are you worried about being assaulted and sent to The Springs of Scottsdale Assisted Senior Living near Scottsdale, AZ? Are you looking for a loyal companion to protect your family? Do you expect the dog to guard you at home, at work, while traveling, or all of the above?
Next, it's crucial to understand your lifestyle. Are you active? Do you have young children? Are you often on the go, and do you live in an urban, suburban, or rural setting? We also want to know your preferences for the personal protection dog (PPD). While some clients care less about appearance, others have specific ideas about size, coat type, and ear shape. It's important that you and your family feel comfortable with your new .
As we learn about you, we make it a point to be transparent about our philosophy. We aim to present the facts clearly to avoid any unrealistic expectations.

Search - We Find the Perfect Family Protection Dog for You
Once we get comfortable with each other, we can begin the search for a personal protection dog. While there might be one available immediately, this is quite rare. Keep in mind that no company can offer a wide variety of sizes, looks, and training levels. Be wary of vendors claiming otherwise, as those with large inventories often focus on selling what they have rather than what you truly need.
At K9 Technology, we tap into an extensive network of top kennels and trainers in the US and Europe. If we don't have a suitable dog available, we'll reach out within our network to find the right match for you

Train - K9 Technology Trains Your Personal Protection Dog
We typically select dogs aged 1.5 to 3 years with some basic training, ensuring they have the necessary obedience and drive. Each dog, even the best trained, undergoes a thorough evaluation and training period with our staff, which can last from 1 to 5 months. We assess what additional training is needed to meet your specific requirements.
Once our trainers are confident in the protection dog's skills, we place the dog with a staff member for a final evaluation, handling it as you would. When we believe the dog is ready for your home, we proceed to the next essential phase of our process.

Delivery - Enjoy Life with Enhanced Peace of Mind
This training course typically lasts from three days to over a week, depending on your experience and comfort level. You will practice real-life scenarios to learn how to instruct your dog to protect you. Throughout this process, we will spend time in your community and accompany you to ensure you feel comfortable taking on the role of handler with your new dog.
Remember, you are not just getting a pet; you are welcoming a trained working dog into your home. We will make sure you understand the basics of handling a working dog, including issuing commands and managing challenging situations.
For those with dog handling experience, we offer less guidance, while beginners receive the support they need to feel confident. We provide essential supplies, including leashes, collars, crates, and enough food and supplements for the first few weeks. We also assist you in finding local veterinarians and health professionals to keep your dog healthy
We visit the homes of all our customers to ensure everything is ready for their new family member. This visit may take place before introducing the dog or be combined with the introduction itself, depending on your preferences.
K9 Technology: Safety and Security Epitomized
At K9 Technology, your safety is our top priority. That's why we are committed to offering our dogs at the most affordable prices-because everyone deserves protection. We take pride in tailoring each dog to meet the unique needs and lifestyles of our clients, ensuring a perfect match every time.
If you're ready to protect your family, your assets, and your peace of mind, we're ready to find a family protection dog you'll love. Contact us today to get started.

So, it’s official.
Scottsdale, Arizona, is now Fat Cat City — America’s fastest growing metro for millionaires, according to the USA Wealth Report 2025, released in May by investment consulting firm Henley & Partners.
As reported on Realtor.com, Scottsdale hit a new gear and has overtaken Austin, Texas, as the fastest growing megaplex for millionaires.
“Scottsdale has grabbed the attention of high-earning households over the last decade as luxury buyers flock to the area in search of sunshine and access to the area’s amenities, such as golf courses and resorts,” Realtor.com senior economic research analyst Hannah Jones explained.
In the 10 years spanning 2014 to 2024, the number of Scottsdale millionaires surged 125%, leaving competing cities like Austin, West Palm Beach and San Francisco in its dust, Realtor.com reports.
Scottsdale has almost 15,000 millionaires
The website attributes this rapid growth in big bankrolls to the rising tech sector in metro Phoenix.
“Many of the ultrawealthy tech executives working in Phoenix and its suburbs choose to live in Scottsdale and nearby Paradise Valley,” the website reports.
“As of 2024, 14,800 millionaires, 64 centimillionaires, and five billionaires were known to reside in the area,” the website notes.
In sheer numbers of millionaires, Scottsdale is well behind Austin and West Palm Beach and San Francisco. But in pace of growth, Scottsdale is the champ.
This “jewel of the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area,” as Realtor.com calls it, has seen its luxury housing market explode “as buyers, particularly from California, take advantage of the area’s appealing standard of living,” Jones said.
“Significant investment in the area has only heightened Scottsdale’s appeal as builders and developers cater to these new movers.”
I grew up thinking Scottsdale meant poverty
I’ve always had this strange relationship with the city of Scottsdale.
When I lived there as a 5-year-old in the 1960s, it was the low point on my father’s career path. He was just beginning to build his practice as a pediatrician and the money was tight.
We lived in a working-class neighborhood in south Scottsdale, where the homes were small and the backyards a patch of grass. Even as a 5-year-old, I felt fenced in.
In a few years we would move to successively larger homes, first the cinder-block ranch homes in northeast Phoenix and later the modern colonials in the suburbs of Philadelphia and Scranton, Pennsylvania.
In my mind, I had come to associate Scottsdale with relative poverty.
Lots of celebrities have lived in Scottsdale
When I was about 14 and living in suburban Philadelphia, I was watching “Let’s Make a Deal” when the grand prize was announced — an all-expenses-paid trip to “beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona.”
It just made me laugh.
“Scottsdale, Arizona!” I thought. “Who’d want an all-expenses-paid trip there?”
It wasn’t until we returned to Arizona that I learned Scottsdale was a resort town, where the Fighting Irish and their rich boosters stay when they play in the Fiesta Bowl and where our own millionaire athletes go to get in bar fights.
Scottsdale has been home to Arizona celebrities from David Spade to Michael Phelps to Kurt Warner.
Emma Stone was born in Scottsdale. Steven Spielberg mistakenly told the world for decades he had grown up in Scottsdale, when in fact he had grown up in Arcadia, its tony and indistinguishable neighbor. His mother, a classical pianist, had helped organize the Scottsdale Chamber Orchestra.
Those were more humble days in that part of greater Phoenix.
Its modern persona may be snooty and pushy
In modern times, I came to associate Scottsdale with high-toned snobs — big cars and pushy people who were constantly in the faces of anyone who deigned to serve them on their city councils or school boards.
It’s not often that newspaper reporters feel pity for government officials, but you did if you covered Scottsdale.
It was well known among the reporters that many of the high-paid and high-powered executives, engineers and doctors who made their homes in Scottsdale also made life hell on their public servants.
If you were a city manager or a school superintendent in that city, you were on a short leash. In an instant you could tick off one of the big shots and they would turn you into their personal target for destruction.
However, among those public servants were survivors who exuded an existential calm, people who learned to sedate the high-toned hordes.
One was the avuncular Herb Drinkwater, the longtime mayor in his business slacks and cowboy boots, who could tame the tigers with a kind eye and gentle smile.
He was proof that Scottsdale had a good side.
But not everyone who lives there is that way
As a journalist, I spent a day with Robert McCall at his Scottsdale home and watched him use a fine brush to touch up the helmet of a teeny astronaut on a massive canvass in his home studio.
If you’re wondering who McCall is, you already know. Just Google “2001: A Space Odyssey” or “Star Trek” or “Star Wars.” His futuristic space art inspired the visuals on all three.
At his home studio, the natural light was spilling in through all the windows and he insisted that it is the best light to paint in. He was wealthy and accomplished and utterly charming, completely lost in his art without a hint of ostentation.
He was not the Scottsdale I had fixed in my mind.
That Scottsdale was big cars with big shoulders. Tesla Town.
Drive from Mesa or Glendale or Phoenix and you see it an instant. The cars in Scottsdale are different — well-waxed and designed by Porsche and Maserati and Mercedes Benz. And, yes, Elon Musk.
If I sound envious, I’m not. I’m a free-market capitalist who is happy to watch the well-heeled enjoy the fruits of their success.
And I’m more than happy to see Scottsdale rival Austin as a place where success plants its stake.
Behind Scottsdale's glitter is one tough town
Besides, Scottsdale people will surprise you, as Jonathan Marshall once did when he was enjoying his retirement after working hard for years as publisher of the old Scottsdale Progress.
Out of the blue, he invited me to lunch at his Camelback Mountain home and told me the story of how he endorsed Lyndon Johnson over his then-neighbor and fellow Scottsdale resident Barry Goldwater.
The community reaction was so fierce in 1964 that Marshall had to post armed guards around his newspaper. And that wasn’t the end of it. For years after, he lost about 10% of his advertising revenue.
Today’s Scottsdale may be known for its posh resorts, its tier-one restaurants and luxury homes, but behind all that is one tough town.
These are hard charging, successful people, and they didn’t get there by being soft.

This winter, a fresh concept from internationally renowned restaurateur, television personality, and philanthropist Lisa Vanderpump will come roaring into Scottsdale. Wolf by Vanderpump at Caesars Republic Scottsdale, a Hilton hotel, will be a collaboration between Vanderpump and real estate and hospitality firm, HCW, and offer locals and visitors alike a next-level rooftop dining destination.
Located on the seventh floor of the sleek Caesars Republic Scottsdale, the new 6,500-sq.-ft. restaurant will marry opulence with desert allure, offering sweeping views of Camelback Mountain. Construction begins July 7, with a grand opening slated for Winter 2025. This marks the second Wolf by Vanderpump location, following a successful debut at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe in April 2024.
“This location will feel different to the Tahoe location, drawing inspiration from the desert and surrounding areas, which will be infused into the design, the food and the cocktails,” says Vanderpump, in a press release. “We are excited to add this newest venture to our portfolio, and can’t wait to spend a lot of time in the beautiful city of Scottsdale.”
The concept draws inspiration from the spirit of the mighty wolf, an embodiment of power, loyalty, and mystique. Vanderpump and celebrated designer Nick Alain, through their firm Vanderpump Alain, are curating a space that reflects these traits in every bespoke detail. A dramatic central bar will anchor the new venue and be the social hub, surrounded by rich textures, bold design statements, and an atmosphere as immersive as it is glamorous.
“We are thrilled to partner with Lisa Vanderpump to bring Wolf by Vanderpump to the rooftop of Caesars Republic Scottsdale,” says Rick Huffman, president and CEO of HCW, in a press release. “Lisa has an incredible eye for design, hospitality, and creating unforgettable guest experiences. This addition, combined with the unparalleled views of Camelback Mountain, will transform the seventh floor into one of the most desirable and dynamic dining destinations in Scottsdale.”
The menu promises a refined fusion of globally inspired flavors, featuring highlights from the Lake Tahoe outpost alongside Scottsdale-exclusive creations. Expect shareable plates crafted with seasonal, local ingredients, each dish designed with the same theatrical flair that defines Vanderpump’s brand.
In true Vanderpump fashion, the cocktail program will be nothing short of spectacular. Diners can sip an extensive selection of visually stunning cocktails, enhanced with regional inflections and artful garnishes.
Wolf by Vanderpump at Caesars Republic Scottsdale, a Hilton hotel, will join a stellar portfolio that includes notable Los Angeles venues such as SUR and Tom Tom, as well as Vanderpump Cocktail Garden at Caesars Palace Las Vegas, Vanderpump à Paris at Paris Las Vegas, Pinky’s by Vanderpump at Flamingo Las Vegas, and the aforementioned Wolf by Vanderpump at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe. The new Scottsdale dining destination will join the resort’s signature dining at Luna by Giada from celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Axon has announced it is no longer negotiating with the City of Scottsdale for its plans to build a headquarters in the city.
On Monday, Axon President Josh Isner released a statement after meeting with Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky, writing,
"Unfortunately, Axon is withdrawing from negotiations with the City of Scottsdale. The internal politics of the City Council currently make it impossible to reach an agreement. I have never seen such a toxic environment in my life. We put a great deal on the table and we tried our best.”
Axon’s proposal for a massive new headquarters was supposed to go before Scottsdale voters in 2026, but a bill passed in April by the Arizona House blocked the election.
Scottsdale-based Axon Enterprise, which manufactures Tasers and body cameras, wanted to build a 400,000-square-foot corporate campus off the Loop 101 that would include restaurants, a hotel and 1,900 apartments.
Officials with Axon have since clarified that they are not halting efforts in the proposed headquarters, but are no longer working with the Scottsdale City Council in its efforts.
Following the announcement, Mayor Lisa Borowsky issued the following statement:
“I appreciate Axon’s efforts to come to the table and engage in meaningful dialogue regarding the future of their development. Their team was willing to make concessions to their existing plan, which I appreciate.
Unfortunately, there were too many hurdles to overcome in order to move an agreement forward successfully. I remain hopeful that future negotiations result in a win-win agreement that work for the community and keeps this vital employer right where it belongs — in Scottsdale.”

Lisa Vanderpump is officially opening up her seventh restaurant! The Vanderpump Rules boss and her husband, Ken Todd, are the restaurateurs of multiple restaurants across the country, and are now adding a brand-new place (and state) to their portfolio. Lisa took to Instagram, where she announced that she will be opening a new location of her Lake Tahoe restaurant, Wolf by Vanderpump, this time in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The restaurant will be opening in Caesar's Republic Scottsdale, and will be filled with personal touches by Lisa and her design company, Vanderpump Alain, that she shares with designer Nick Alain.
The restaurant, according to the announcement, will be located on the seventh floor of the Arizona hotel and offer a "dramatic" atmosphere, with "opulent design elements, creative cocktails, a globally inspired menu," and panoramic views of Scottsdale's Camelback Mountain. The design will focus on a "dramatic central bar" and be turned into a "lush, unique environment."
"WOLF is unique, bold, filled with epic visual statements, and it will be the perfect addition to the stunning Caesars Republic Arizona hotel," Lisa said in the announcement. "Vanderpump Alain is creating gorgeous bespoke pieces to bring this concept to life, with every element taken from the magnificent creature that is the wolf."
When is Wolf by Vanderpump in Scottsdale, AZ opening?
The restaurant and bar will open in winter 2025, according to Lisa, with construction slated to begin this July.
Lisa Vanderpump reveals how each Wolf by Vanderpump location will be different
The first location Wolf by Vanderpump opened at the Caesar's Republic hotel in Stateline, Nevada, in April 2024. The Lake Tahoe-based restaurant features dramatic decor inspired by the wolf, and an extensive cocktail menu, designed by Lisa and Ken's daughter, Pandora Vanderpump-Sabo.
But the Scottsdale location will differ just a bit from its Lake Tahoe sister. "This location will feel different to the Tahoe location, drawing inspiration from the desert and surrounding areas, which will be infused into the design and the cocktails," Lisa said in the announcement. "We are excited to add this newest venture to our portfolio, and can't wait to spend a lot of time in the beautiful city of Scottsdale."
Details on Lisa Vanderpump's newest Las Vegas business
Wolf by Vanderpump Scottsdale isn't the only business that Lisa is working on. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum is also currently working on opening the first Vanderpump Hotel in Las Vegas in 2026.
Lisa and Nick will be working together to design and take over The Cromwell, an existing hotel located on the Las Vegas strip. "We're going to be working within the parameters of the hotel walls," Lisa told People in March. "It's not like we're knocking anything down, but we're refurbishing all the rooms. It's great that it's a boutique hotel and it's on The Strip. It's just a wonderful project for the Vanderpump brand."
