K9 Protection Dogs in Kansas City, MO
Imagine this: You and your family are walking downtown enjoying nice spring weather and looking for your favorite ice cream place. The sun is shining, and your small town is peaceful with spring flowers and trees in full bloom. Your children are ahead excited and laughing. Suddenly, you notice a quick movement of a man wearing a hooded shirt and sunglasses towards your daughter. He seems to carry a shiny object in his hand and screaming something strange. You are stunned at first, feeling powerless as you are unarmed and may not reach your daughter in time. But your loyal family guardian is already ready to act - all you must do is let go of the leash. In a second Rocky closes the distance between you and the crazy assailant, he attacks with speed and determination. The assailant does not have time to react to your K9 charging at 30 miles per hour. The assailant was neutralized, and you and your kids are safe!

How We Choose Our Personal Protection Dogs for Sale in Kansas City, MO
The first requirement for any dog we deem worthy of our protection canine program is that it must be bred to be a working dog.
Working Dogs 101
In the United States, the term "K9" has become the standard way to refer to working dogs. This abbreviation originated from police departments that started using "K9" to describe their police dogs, with K9 simply being a shorthand version of the word "canine," which refers to the family of animals that includes all dogs. As a result, K9 has become a common term for working police dogs.
But what exactly is a working dog? There are several types of working dogs. For instance, dogs that assist with hunting are considered working dogs, as well as those that are trained to pull carts to market. Generally, when we talk about working dogs, we refer to dogs that perform important tasks in police and military settings.

Our Family Protection Dog Selection Process
We select mature dogs aged 1.5 to 2.0 years, ideally with some basic training in working dog sports like KNPV, Schutzhund/IGP, or Mondioring. This allows us to assess their working character, training, health, and suitability for your needs.
After selection, we focus on training the dogs to meet our customers' specific requirements. These dogs must maintain a high level of obedience while also being prepared to respond to potential threats on command. Often, we train them to use a "hold and bark" technique, where the dog barks to warn of a threat when the owner gives a guard command. The dog will only bite if the person attacks or approaches the owner.
Our personal protection dogs can be trained and sold anywhere in the USA. Clients often refer their friends and family members to K9 Technology because:
- We Utilize an Effective Four-Step Selling Process
- Every Do is Selected to Meet Your Unique Needs
- Every Family Protection Dog is Trained with Your Family in Mind
- We Select Dogs from the Best Breeders in the World
- Exclusive Training from Professional Protection Dog Trainers

Family Protection Dogs for Sale in Kansas City, MO Tailored to Your Needs
While there are certain essential traits that all K9 dogs we select must have, we also take into account the unique needs and preferences of each customer. We start that process by conducting a thorough interview to understand your situation and engage with each adult family member. We then visit your home and property, paying close attention to your living arrangements and specific circumstances. We'll ask you questions such as:
- Do you have children and their ages?
- Do you prefer the dog(s) to live inside or outside the house?
- Do you want a family dog that will spend time with you and your family or a protection dog that would focus on its primary task?
- Do you need a protection dog that you can take with you outside your property to provide protection?
- What are your security concerns, and what are the security risks you seek protection from?
- How large is your property, and what is the local weather?

The Importance of Dog Traits
Dogs, even those of the same breed and from the same litter, can have very different personalities. Some dogs are naturally more family-oriented and exhibit patience around small children, while others may not have that same temperament. Certain dogs are highly energetic and may not be suitable for living indoors with someone who lacks experience in handling working dogs.
Some dogs also possess strong prey and defensive instincts, showcasing a higher degree of aggression that can be valuable for addressing potential intruders. Conversely, there are also dogs that are more balanced and easygoing, yet still fully capable of dealing with your average criminal threat.
Selecting the right personal protection dog for your needs takes many years of experience and knowledge of dog behavior. That's why, at K9 Technology, we've assembled a world-class team for exactly this purpose.

Top 3 Family Protection Dogs for Sale in Kansas City, MO
At K9 Technology, one of the most common questions we get often revolves around what the best K9 protection dogs are. That's a difficult question to answer because every breed is different, and every family and individual will have different needs and goals with their protection dog. However, generally speaking, working dogs like the following breeds are often the best.
German Shepards
German Shepherds are commonly chosen to work alongside police officers for a good reason. They are courageous animals, displaying both confidence and boldness. Their high intelligence and ability to learn commands quickly make them a popular choice among individuals and families. When they join a household, they tend to have a calm demeanor and are very affectionate. However, don't be fooled; if their home is threatened, they will respond swiftly to protect their loved ones.

Belgian Malinois
The Belgian Malinois is a highly energetic breed that possesses the strength and vigor of a large dog, all while maintaining a lighter frame. Similar to Dobermans, Malinois are exceptionally intelligent and alert. Like many protective breeds, they require regular physical activity and mental challenges to truly thrive.

Dutch Shepherds
If you're looking for a versatile and highly intelligent protection dog, the Dutch Shepherd is an outstanding choice. Originally developed in the Netherlands for herding and guarding duties, this breed is known for its incredible work ethic, adaptability, and loyalty. Dutch Shepherds are extremely trainable, making them ideal for both personal and family protection.

Meet - Let's Get to Know Each Other
When our customers reach out, our first priority is to understand their security concerns. We want to know why you're considering a personal protection dog and what experiences led you here. Are you worried about being assaulted and sent to The Oxford Grand near Kansas City, MO? Are you looking for a loyal companion to protect your family? Do you expect the dog to guard you at home, at work, while traveling, or all of the above?
Next, it's crucial to understand your lifestyle. Are you active? Do you have young children? Are you often on the go, and do you live in an urban, suburban, or rural setting? We also want to know your preferences for the personal protection dog (PPD). While some clients care less about appearance, others have specific ideas about size, coat type, and ear shape. It's important that you and your family feel comfortable with your new .
As we learn about you, we make it a point to be transparent about our philosophy. We aim to present the facts clearly to avoid any unrealistic expectations.

Search - We Find the Perfect Family Protection Dog for You
Once we get comfortable with each other, we can begin the search for a personal protection dog. While there might be one available immediately, this is quite rare. Keep in mind that no company can offer a wide variety of sizes, looks, and training levels. Be wary of vendors claiming otherwise, as those with large inventories often focus on selling what they have rather than what you truly need.
At K9 Technology, we tap into an extensive network of top kennels and trainers in the US and Europe. If we don't have a suitable dog available, we'll reach out within our network to find the right match for you

Train - K9 Technology Trains Your Personal Protection Dog
We typically select dogs aged 1.5 to 3 years with some basic training, ensuring they have the necessary obedience and drive. Each dog, even the best trained, undergoes a thorough evaluation and training period with our staff, which can last from 1 to 5 months. We assess what additional training is needed to meet your specific requirements.
Once our trainers are confident in the protection dog's skills, we place the dog with a staff member for a final evaluation, handling it as you would. When we believe the dog is ready for your home, we proceed to the next essential phase of our process.

Delivery - Enjoy Life with Enhanced Peace of Mind
This training course typically lasts from three days to over a week, depending on your experience and comfort level. You will practice real-life scenarios to learn how to instruct your dog to protect you. Throughout this process, we will spend time in your community and accompany you to ensure you feel comfortable taking on the role of handler with your new dog.
Remember, you are not just getting a pet; you are welcoming a trained working dog into your home. We will make sure you understand the basics of handling a working dog, including issuing commands and managing challenging situations.
For those with dog handling experience, we offer less guidance, while beginners receive the support they need to feel confident. We provide essential supplies, including leashes, collars, crates, and enough food and supplements for the first few weeks. We also assist you in finding local veterinarians and health professionals to keep your dog healthy
We visit the homes of all our customers to ensure everything is ready for their new family member. This visit may take place before introducing the dog or be combined with the introduction itself, depending on your preferences.

Without Patrick Mahomes, it’s tough to say that the Kansas City Chiefs would have won three Super Bowls over the past several years. The former Texas Tech Red Raiders star quarterback has been the gift that keeps on giving for the Chiefs.
Despite Kansas City failing to pull off a three-peat in the Super Bowl era after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles last February, the Chiefs will always be viewed as a legitimate top contender to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy so long as Mahomes is under center and still in the prime years of his playing career.
With six Pro Bowls and two NFL Most Valuable Player awards while also still being just 29 years old, the future remains blindingly bright for Mahomes, who was taken 10th overall in the 2017 NFL draft by the Chiefs.
Fans react to NFL’s post about Kansas City Chiefs QB’s wild passes
Mahomes isn’t just an incredibly effective quarterback; he’s also very entertaining to watch. Casual football fans can appreciate his otherworldly talents, which have been put on display by the NFL via a montage of highlights in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Of course, that video generated lots of attention from fans online:
“I was there for the behind the back pass live. The stadium went nuts!,” said a fan on X.
Another one said: “Yes, he is. Expect more of that come September. ❤️”
From a commenter: “There is no one like Mahomes”
“Maybe my favorite highlight reel!,” a social media user posted.
Via a different commenter: “True story, the guy is crazy! Can’t wait for next season ???? ????️”
Said another: “I was there for the behind the back pass. I had just turned to my sister to ask what she wanted for dinner and missed it. Everyone else in my group was watching. So I got to see their faces see it and then the crowd reacted. ????”

The Kansas City Chiefs have been one of the better drafting teams over the last couple of seasons. While the 2025 NFL Draft looks to be a good haul for the franchise, it has to be recognized how the Chiefs used to hit on players in the middle rounds over ten years ago.
The Chief's defense seems to always get undervalued compared to their offense. That rings true more often now, but one of the better Chiefs defenses since 2010 featured four-time Pro Bowler, Justin Houston.
Houston was drafted by the Chiefs in the 2011 NFL Draft in the third round. From 2011 to 2018, Houston collected all four of his Pro Bowl nods with the franchise and became an All-Pro back in 2014.
Even without donning a Chiefs uniform, Houston has been one of the more productive players on defense in recent years. So much so that NFL.com's Eric Edholm ranked Houston as the fifth-best edge rushers in terms of draft values of the millennium.
"The massive-framed Houston was coming off a 10-sack season at Georgia and tested very well at the combine but slipped to Round 3 of the 2011 draft. By the end of his rookie season, though, it was clear he should have gone much higher. Houston would rack up 112 sacks, 19 forced fumbles, five picks and four safeties (tied for the most ever) -- most of which came during his Kansas City days," Edholm wrote.
"Interestingly, the Houston pick was a throw-in for the Chiefs moving down five slots in Round 1, in a trade that involved Phil Taylor going to the Browns and Jonathan Baldwin going to K.C. Both were notable busts who never fulfilled their potential, but picking Houston two rounds later would make the Chiefs massive winners of that deal."
While Houston left Kansas City before their dynasty got underway, his impact on the defensive side of the ball was surely felt. Collecting 382 total tackles, 319 solos, and 78.5 quarterback sacks while donning a Chiefs uniform makes Houston the perfect representative on Edholm's Top 5 list.
Houston spent two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and one year with the Carolina Panthers and the Miami Dolphins following his Chiefs tenure.

The Kansas City Chiefs have several superstars on their roster. With quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce, and head coach Andy Reid, a ton of other talent gets overlooked on how much they mean to the franchise, too.
A ton of fans love the offensive side of the game of football. However, when it's time to give credit where credit is due, the Kansas City defense deserves to be in the limelight more. Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo has done nothing but elevate the defense since taking over back in 2019.
The Chiefs' defense was a key reason for the franchise's 15-2 regular season record last season. While the Chiefs were winning one-score games, it was the defense making up for the offense's lack of explosiveness, which just proves how talented the Chiefs are up and down the roster.
That being said, one of the more familiar faces on the Chiefs' defense is defensive tackle Chris Jones. Jones has become the heart of this Chiefs franchise. Since debuting back in 2016, the former second-round draft pick has turned himself into one of the best players in the National Football League today.
While quarterbacks get talked about most often, it's important to give love to the other players who make up the football roster. According to analyst Rich Eisen's recent Top 10 Non-Quarterbacks in the NFL power rankings, Jones ranks fifth in that category in his eyes.
"Chris Jones is on the list. Chris Jones is right there at number five. He cracks the top five," Eisen said.
Throughout his career, Jones has played in 138 regular season games, has collected 310 total tackles, 207 solo tackles, 87 tackles for loss, and 80.5 quarterback sacks. While his sack totals don't jump off the page in the playoffs, Jones has collected 43 total tackles and 22 solo tackles in 22 playoff games.
As Jones goes into his age-31 campaign, having turned 31 yesterday (July 3), the Chiefs will have to closely monitor the multi-time Pro Bowler. As we all know, but don't want to admit, players that make up the roster in 2025 won't play forever, making Jones' ranking of the fifth-best non-quarterback player in one analyst's eyes that much more valuable.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Believe it!
Warner Brothers has issued notices to several Blue Springs residents that the Apple TV+ series “Ted Lasso” will film in their neighborhood.
City officials in Blue Springs confirmed the crew is scheduled to begin filming in the area in the coming weeks.
“We have been working with the City of Blue Springs to minimize disruption while filming in the community and have obtained the necessary filming permits,” the notice read. “We thank you for your time and your support of the Kansas City Film and Television Industry. We are excited that this is helping to spotlight Kansas City.”
A week ago, a casting call put out by Alessi Hartigan Casting Missouri requested several male and female stand-in roles for “a major series is filming soon in Kansas City.”
The Apple TV+ series follows an American football coach from Kansas who is recruited to coach a British soccer team. Though most of the show has been filmed in England, fans say the Kansas City connection makes the upcoming filming in their hometown feel especially meaningful.
Christa Howard, a Kansas City area resident, said she is a big fan of the show and believes filming in the metro feels like the perfect fit.“I’m so excited. We have so much fun watching him. We love watching the show. Isn’t that how people are supposed to be?” Howard said. “It feels really good because I think a lot of how we try to behave toward other people, you can see glimpses of that in the show and it feels exciting that he’s bringing it back here.”
Howard said she resonates with the kindness and optimism the main character, Ted Lasso, brings to those around him. These are values she sees as reflective of Kansas City itself, and the Midwest as a whole.
“This place, the ‘flyover zone,’ people forget that Kansas City has really neat things to offer,” she said. “There are wonderful restaurants, there are fun places to go. You can make fun wherever you go.”
Local business owners are also embracing the spotlight.
“It’s all about heart,” said Bobby McKenzie, owner of Big Daddy’s Bait Shop in Lake Lotawana. “It’s very important to bring the small-town feel out to the country and let people know what it’s like here.”
The notice to Blue Springs residents stated that the company will film on July 23, with setup taking place the day before.
The film company has also requested a permit from the City of Lee’s Summit to film from July 22-23. That is still in the approval process.

Back in April of this year, the Kansas City Chiefs selected offensive tackle Josh Simmons out of Ohio State in the 2025 NFL Draft (32nd overall). He was the Chiefs' first draft pick, so you know they did a lot of research before setting their sights on him.
The offensive line has always been a major concern for the Chiefs over the past few seasons, specifically at the left tackle spot. Through trial and error, KC continuously tried to find a suitable and reliable player to fill the void, but nothing was working.
This offseason, not only did the Chiefs draft Simmons in the first round, but they also brought in former San Francisco 49ers OT Jaylon Moore in free agency. Moore served as the starting left tackle for the Niners when All-Pro Trent Williams went down with an injury toward the back end of the season.
Last week, retired All-Pro and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce hyped up Simmons on his podcast "New Heights", which he hosts with his brother and current Chiefs' TE Travis Kelce.
“I’ve watched a lot of these linemen coming out the last few years. This kid, I mean, he is the closest thing I’ve seen to like a Trent Williams, like that next-level strength and athleticism. The only reason he fell to you guys is because of that injury,” Jason said. (30:10)
Now, a week later, Chiefs' star edge rusher George Karlaftis doubled down on Kelce's statements. In an episode of the show “Speak”, Karlaftis spoke out on the confidence he has in Simmons and shared his thoughts on what Kelce had to say.
“Jason knows what he’s talking about when he’s talking about alignment, right? But, you know, there’s definitely a lot of shades there. Just with the athleticism alone, his size, I think that’s a fair comparison, just off the intangibles alone,” Karlaftis said.
“Let’s see how he develops. I think he has all the tools, the intangibles, and the work ethic to be as great as he wants to be. Yeah, it’s all about putting in the work at the end of the day. So, I would agree with Jason’s comparison, for sure.”
